OPTIONS for Independence maintains a Loan Bank of assistive devices for the general public, prioritizing residents in OPTIONS' service area, including Cache, Box Elder, and Rich Counties of Utah. The equipment loan is up to 90 days, with a possible 90-day extension if necessary.
A deposit is required for the following equipment:
Hospital Beds: $100 of which $75 is refundable
Foot or Leg Rests for Wheelchairs: $50
Ramps: $100
Knee Walkers: $100
Bed Canes: $25
High Walkers: $50
Hoyer Lift: $100
Deposits are due when the equipment is borrowed and may be paid in cash or with a credit card. If the equipment is returned in good, clean working order, the deposit is returned to the consumer/representative in the same manner received at the time of the loan.
As a courtesy, OPTIONS loans assistive technology devices to those outside the OPTIONS service areas, including Idaho. However, each item listed above with a security deposit of $100 will require an additional $50 refundable deposit.
OPTIONS for Independence relies on donations to ensure the loan bank may continue to provide clean, safe, and reliable equipment. Monetary donations are accepted as cash, check, credit, or debit cards.
OPTIONS also accepts donations of gently used equipment (no direct medical-related devices, i.e., braces, oxygen tanks, can be accepted). When donations are given, receipts are available for money and equipment for tax purposes.
