Assistive Technology
The Assistive Technology program at OPTIONS for Independence provides assistive technology-related services to increase the personal independence of people with disabilities at home and in the community.
Community Integration Program
Opportunities are provided for people with disabilities residing in Box Elder, Cache, and Rich Counties, to participate in recreational and leisure activities available to the general public and promote the accessibility of community recreation and leisure options.
Grocery Shopping
To participate in OPTIONS’ Grocery Shopping program, you must be disabled, unable to access grocery stores any other way, and need only minor assistance.
Healthy Relationships University (HRU)
HRU teaches and empowers young adults ages 18-30 with disabilities to develop healthy and safe relationships with family, friends, and community members. They learn about personal space, assertive communication, consent, and how to keep themselves and others safe while making new friendships.
Loan Bank
OPTIONS for Independence maintains a Loan Bank of assistive devices for the general public, prioritizing residents in OPTIONS' service area, including Cache, Box Elder, and Rich Counties of Utah. The equipment loan is up to 90 days, with a possible 90-day extension if necessary.
Low Vision
OPTIONS offers a variety of resources and services to help with vision loss. People who lose vision do not have to lose independence or give up favorite activities. Instead, a Low Vision Coordinator can help find new ways to accomplish what is needed and desired.
Wellness Recovery Action Plan
Through the WRAP program, simple and powerful peer support classes are provided to assist people with all kinds of health and life challenges to feel better and stay better, manage medical challenges, decrease and prevent intrusive or troubling feelings and behaviors, control and improve quality of life, plan and achieve goals and dreams.
Youth
The Youth Program is dedicated to achieving equality, inclusion, and empowerment of youth with disabilities in all aspects of daily life. This program is for youth with all kinds of disabilities ages 12 to 30. Staff oversees the program; the goal is for the program to be youth-led, youth-run and youth-driven. Activities provide the opportunity to learn, grow and have fun with peers!
